Tea began as something simple.
Hi, we are Michalis and Dolly ā the family behind Holy Tea Amsterdam.
Holy Tea began with a quiet question at home: "Why donāt we create our own tea?" Not as another product on a shelf, but as something closer to the way tea had always lived in our family ā warm, generous, fragrant, and part of the everyday rhythm.
Michalis grew up in Greece, surrounded by mountain herbs, family recipes, and the kind of tea that was never rushed. Sage, chamomile, lemon balm, dittany, citrus peel ā these were not trends. They were part of the cupboard, the garden, the kitchen table, and the stories passed from one generation to the next.
Today, Holy Tea carries that memory into a new place: our home in Amsterdam. Every blend begins with an idea here ā a flavour, a mood, a moment we want to make easier to return to. From there, our teas are made in Greece, close to the herbs, landscapes, and traditions that continue to inspire us.
From a family idea to a tea ritual
We create loose-leaf tea for people who want more than a quick cup. Our blends are made for slower mornings, quiet evenings, thoughtful gifts, and the small pauses that make a day feel more human.
Some teas begin with Greek mountain herbs. Others travel further ā green and black teas from Asia, rooibos from South Africa, fruits, spices, flowers, and citrus from places where flavour grows with character. What matters to us is not novelty for the sake of novelty, but balance: aroma, texture, colour, and the feeling a blend leaves behind.
Holy Tea is Mediterranean at heart, Amsterdam in spirit, and global in curiosity. We are not here to make tea complicated. We are here to make it easier to choose well, brew beautifully, and come back to your cup with a little more intention.
