The Ritual

On the Pelion peninsula in Thessaly, beech and chestnut forests run down the mountain almost to the sea, and the paths between the old stone villages smell of wild herbs. Pelion Forest carries that walk into the cup: earthy pu-erh tea with nettle, rosemary, liquorice root and dandelion root, brightened by orange peel and a bright grapefruit note, steeping into a deep amber-brown infusion.

A grounded, characterful tea for the moments when you want a cup with real depth.

Flavor & Aroma

The dry leaves smell of damp earth and forest floor, lifted by orange and a resinous hint of rosemary. In the cup, the pu-erh gives a smooth, dark and earthy body, nettle and dandelion root add a green, herbal depth, and liquorice root brings a natural sweetness that softens the edges. Orange peel and orange flavouring add a zesty twist, and a touch of grapefruit gives the finish a bright, tangy lift.

When to Enjoy

Lovely in the morning, or after dinner when you want something bold rather than sweet. Contains natural caffeine from pu-erh tea. A good companion to a piece of dark chocolate.

How to Brew

  • Water: 95°C
  • Amount: 1½ teaspoons (approx. 4g) per 250ml cup
  • Time: 4–5 minutes
  • Tip: rinse the leaves with a splash of hot water first, then brew; a slice of fresh orange suits the rosemary and liquorice

Ingredients & Craft

Pu-erh tea (tea with a special fermentation, from China), nettle leaves, liquorice root, rosemary, dandelion root, orange peel, natural orange flavouring (orange flavouring and oil), natural grapefruit flavouring. A loose-leaf blend, prepared and packed in Greece, so every bag reaches you fresh and aromatic.

The Story Behind the Leaves

In Greek myth, Mount Pelion was the home of the centaurs, and the wise centaur Chiron is said to have raised heroes such as Achilles and Jason in its forests. Pu-erh comes from a very different mountain landscape: it is named after the town of Pu’er in Yunnan, China, where it was traded for centuries, and its leaves go through a slow, special fermentation that gives the tea its dark colour and earthy character.
